3 phase inverters have been around for a long time now and become simpler to use, we use a combination of suppliers who provide different VFDs for the industry, our end user is usually in a domestic setting so we opt for a set and forget type setup, with controls located on the VFD to use instead of the original circuitry, from 0.55Kw up to 4Kw electric motors can be run via a VFD, most motors are compatible but may require extra work done to the windings.
Usually only suitable up to 2.2Kw a static converter could be built to your machines specifications, with use of a couple of capacitors and switching gear, the 3 phase motor is capable of running on single phase, it will however have a loss of power due to the nature of the windings, but if the application is not high load this method works perfectly fine, we would not recommend this type for car hoist, if the hoist is a screw type then we would recommend that it remain 3 phase as the conversion for this application is very problematic.
The static converter built by The Woori Workshop for our client who had 3 machines all with the same size motor on them, se he opted for a portable one with 3 phase outlet
